Publications
With four years of college Liberal Arts and a lifetime of devoted study in Catholic Apologetics, Anthony has applied himself as a writer in sharing his interests and studies over the years towards promoting a healthier, happier culture in society through a greater understanding of the Good, the True, and the Beautiful. He currently has a blog on Substack (Anthony McDonnell | Substack), and has published his first book, available below on Amazon. Please enjoy!
Proverbially setting aside the fig leaves of man's fear and shame, To Our Own Image and Likeness is an original work based on the belief that the greatest realities manifest themselves most perfectly in the day-to-day realities of a holy, happy, and fruitful marriage. Hence, this treatise represents a summary of God, Creation, and Redemption, explained specifically through the lens of romance; that is, the love that makes the world go around.
The reader will find herein a simple exposition on how the romantic love of a man and woman is created unto the same typology of Love between Lover and Beloved which defines God in the Blessed Trinity, and how the same resonates throughout all of human and divine realities. This work reconciles the primordial innocence of the man and woman in marital unity respectively with the glory of the Son and Holy Spirit in the Father. It demonstrates (1) the divine parallel between the Blessed Trinity and human nature's sexuality, (2) how the New Adam and Eve, Jesus and Mary, restore the eternal romance lost by the Old Adam and Eve's betrayal of God and each other, and (3) how the sacrament of marriage is a practical symbol and means even now for living and attaining the Eternal Marriage Feast of Heaven.
Apostolates
Apart from St. Anthony's Enterprises, LLC, Anthony McDonnell is a devout Catholic, and pursues a myriad of apostolates for the sake of promoting traditional Catholic family values, particularly through the arts of music and dancing.
He has participated in, and even directed Gregorian Chant Scholas and Polyphonic Choirs at nearly a dozen chapels across the country. He has also taught music theory and appreciation to grade school students at two different schools, one parish, and a homeschooling group, and is current choir director at St. Therese Chapel of Waunakee, WI.
Anthony has also pursued the art of dancing on multiple different levels and avenues, and for the last twelve years has been regularly teaching and hosting traditional contra and ballroom style dances for Catholic communities both locally and across state lines.
On principle, Anthony does not charge for these events nor guarantee his availability for the same, though gratuities to cover travel and equipment are often appreciated after such events.
If you have any interest in such events, whether it be assistance in hosting your own, or personal attendance at my next one, please feel free to contact me, and I will see how I may be of assistance!
